On Thursday evening (7/25/2013) the MTSU Foundation House on West Thompson Lane was filled with music, must have "silent auction" items, along with great barbecue and all the trimmings. This was the seventh annual Saddle Up for Project Help.
Proceeds went to the university's Project Help, an intervention program for developmentally delayed youth ages 3-months to 3-years.
The silent auction items were both outside (above photo) as well as inside MTSU's Foundation House (below photo). That offered opportunities to grab deals on spa packages, tickets to sporting events, family fun and date night outings, along with local entertainment. Plus, the popular miniature sculptures of Raymond “Chi” Palma were a highlight of the evening.
Project Help Director Susan Waldrop said, “It has been wonderful to see so many people from Rutherford County come out and support the work and mission of Project Help."
Volunteers welcomed you when you arrived (photo below) and let you know your support was appreciated as you departed.
About Project Help
Project Help offers services free of charge to families who have very young children with developmental delays or disabilities.
Project Help Advisory Board Co-Chair Sandy Mitchell said, “Saddle Up gets bigger and better each year. It’s a casual, fun summer party, which in itself was the perfect reason to attend. However, Project Help means so much to families whose children have benefited from attending. The proceeds from Saddle Up will enable Project Help to continue to meet the needs of Rutherford County families.”
Project Help is an early intervention program that offers services free of charge to families who have very young children with developmental delays or disabilities. To learn more about Project Help's early intervention, call (615) 898-2458, or visit www.mtsu.edu/projecthelp.
