TDOT officials attribute the decrease of fatalities on Tennessee roadways to a number of campaigns including displaying the number of deaths on overhead Dynamic Message Signs in the state’s urban areas along with targeted safety messages reminding motorists to wear their seatbelts, which they say is the leading cause of death for Tennessee motorists.
