A 28-year old mother accused of striking her son with a belt buckle several weeks ago will appear in court on Thursday in Rutherford County. Tonya E. Rubio is accused of striking her son in the face with the belt buckle because of a bad report from school. A teacher at the school noticed the injury and notified the Department of Children’s Services. Rubio was charged with aggravated child abuse.
