54-Year Old James Avaritt Dies of Heart Attack While On Vacation

A community leader and son of a well-known local minister dies of a heart attack in Florida. 54-year old James Avaritt was vacationing with his family when he suffered a fatal heart attack early Wednesday morning (10/12/2011). 

Averitt was a graduate of Riverdale High School and MTSU. He was a registered nurse for the past 25-years at the York V.A. Medical Center and manager of the Specialty Care Clinic and Urology Departments. Averitt was a Bible Study Fellowship Children's Leader, a deacon, choir director and Sunday School teacher for many years. He attended Franklin Road Baptist Church and at Bellwood Baptist prior to that.

Family visitation is scheduled for Saturday (10/15/2011) from 2:00 in the afternoon until 8:00 that evening at Woodfin Memorial Chapel here in Murfreesboro. The service will be Sunday at 2:00PM, also at Woodfin on Lascassas Pike.
