The District 7-Triple-A matchup between the Siegel Stars and Smyrna Bulldogs was a nailbiter. The game went into overtime last night tied 21-21. Smyrna scored first in O-T, but Siegel answered to make it 28-27. The Stars went for two, but failed to convert and lost to the Bulldogs by one. Both teams are ensured of a playoff berth, making five of six Rutherford County 6-A teams among the state's best 32. Playoffs begin next week.
Tonight, the 42nd meeting between Oakland and Riverdale will take place at Tomahawk Stadium. WGNS will be there with Bryan Barrett, Donnie Johnson, Jon Dinkins and Rafferty Cleary bringing you the "LIVE" play-by-play from Riverdale. After the game, Dennis Weaver will host First National Bank of Murfreesboro Friday Night Thunder until midnight. In the extended edition, he'll be joined by DNJ Prep Editor Tom Kreager, who will project playoff matchups.
