After 16-Years of Tough Love, "Kid's Castle" To Get Facelift!

What were you doing in 1995? Many area residents volunteered to help build Kid's Castle that's located in the Old Fort Park. Students drew pictures of what they wanted to see in the super-play area, and an architect who specializes in projects of this type was brought to the 'Boro. As you recall, WGNS broadcast live for the week of construction and announced needs for specific tools and skills.

After 16-years of tough love, a facelift for Kid's Castle is being planned. Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Director Lanny Goodwin is proposing a $300,000 renovation of the facility. It is expected to be completed by this coming spring.

Four construction companies are putting together their ideas on what is needed, and those will be presented on November 29th. Half of the funds for the job will come from a Tennessee Department of Energy and Conservation grant.
