Murfreesboro Police have an "open" missing person case in the disappearance of Marcie Smith who went missing four years ago. You may recall Smith’s SUV was last seen in the Walmart parking lot on Rutherford Boulevard in 2008. Smith’s husband Palmer has been a suspect in the disappearance of his wife, but has never been charged in connection with her possible death. Palmer Smith has however been charged with misleading authorities in their search for Marcie. Despite those actions, Palmer Smith continues to claim his innocence.
Palmer Smith has since sent a map that was allegedly mailed to him by unknown persons of where his wife’s body may be, to the FBI. Smith hopes the FBI will search the area on the map in Lauderdale County. The area has already been searched once by Murfreesboro Police, but no clues to her whereabouts were found.
