We have more news on a sealed indictment case that was handed down by the Rutherford County Grand Jury involving the arrest of 41 year old Gregory Dewayne Johnson. The man was arrested on May 15, 2018 and charged with sexual assault.
Johnson is accused of attempting to rape the 29 year old daughter of his alleged girlfriend. The incident was reported to have occurred in the daughter's hotel room. The woman said that she allowed him to stay the night suggesting he was too intoxicated to leave. The following morning is when the alleged attempted rape occurred.
The victim said that she was asleep when Johnson attempted to sexually assault her. The woman said that she got up when the attack was made and called her brother and her mom.
A police report shows that Johnson said that he was very intoxicated and thought that he was with his girlfriend and not her daughter.
After his arrest, he was booked under a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to be in Circuit Court on June 18, 2018.
