A 35-year old Murfreesboro man was arrested and charged with child abuse after allegedly assaulting a small baby on Monday. The incident occurred in the parking lot of Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Glenn Allen Climer allegedly acted as if he were going to break the neck of the 13-month old baby in front of police. When officers saw Climer grab the baby by the head, officers, with the help of Middle Tennessee Medical Center Security, wrestled the baby away from Climer. The East Main Street resident was evidently watching the baby for a family member who had been transported to the hospital after having a heart attack. Climer was charged with child abuse, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer. He was booked in jail under a $31,500 bond.
