State Senator Bill Ketron (R-Murfreesboro) and State Representative Mike Sparks (R-Smyrna) will attend the public dedication of the memorial for fallen Blue Angels Captain Jeff Kuss. The dedication will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. outside the airport and adjacent to Lee Victory Recreation Park in Smyrna.

The two lawmakers helped secure $125,000 in the state budget adopted by the General Assembly in April to build the memorial.

"We are very honored to be a part of this dedication ceremony for Captain Kuss," said Senator Ketron. "It is an extraordinary and inspiring memorial that is a wonderful asset to our county. We are also very honored that Captain Kuss' family and colleagues are planning to attend. We just want them to know that Captain Kuss touched the lives of many Tennesseans and that his distinguished service to this nation will never be forgotten."

"I am excited to be a part of this ceremony honoring one of our remarkable American heroes," said Representative Sparks. "Captain Kuss is extremely worthy of this tribute, and it was a privilege for me to fight to ensure that this project received the funding needed to see it completed. I know this memorial will serve as a reminder to our future generations about the remarkable bravery that Captain Kuss displayed as a member of the Blue Angels."
