A report out this week ranks Tennessee as the third-most difficult state to cast a vote.
According to The Washington Post, people in the Volunteer State face more inconveniences on the way to the ballot box than most other states. However, that is not the case in Rutherford County as new initiatives are actually making it easier to vote.
A law that went into effect last year (2017) allows for Rutherford County to participate in a pilot program that established more convenient voting centers locally. Rutherford County Election Administrator Alan Farley stated...
Farley says the county will consolidate the number of precincts from 49 to around 30 on Election Day, November 6th.
As of this past Saturday, 19,378 local residents have gone to the polls.
