Elderly Woman Crashes Into Farm Bureau

(MURFREESBORO) The Farm Bureau Insurance office in a strip center at 2864 South Church Street had an older customer accidentally hit the accelerator, jump the curb, and slam through the building a little before 8:00AM Wednesday (5/29/2019) morning.

There were two employees sitting at their desks readying for the office opening. One saw the car jump the curb and head toward the structure.

Murfreesboro Police PIO Larry Flowers reports, "A 76-year old woman crashes car into Farm Bureau office on S. Church Street Wednesday morning, narrowing missing a worker who was reading morning devotional. The chair where the worker was sitting came to rest on the windshield. The elderly driver thought the car was in park, pressed the accelerator and crashed into the building."

The emotional worker was taken to the ER at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was treated and released. No pending charges since driver was on private property.
