(MURFREESBORO) Monday (7/22/2019) marks the 103rd anniversary of the purchasing of the home and founding of the Woman's Club of Murfreesboro. The group held its Second Annual Legacy Gathering Saturday night. They are raising funds to preserve the 1856 home on the corner of College and North Academy Streets.

Supporters packed The Tasty Table & Olive Branch Bakery on Saturday night. They heard historical talks from Womble, Historian Shirley Farris Jones, and Club Historian and Past President Diane Summar, along with Denis Carlton who is heading the club's local preservation efforts.
Donations to preserve the 163-year old structure at the corner of College and North Academy Streets are tax deductibile, since The Woman's Club of Murfreesboro is a 501 (c )(3) public charity. Visit their website: www.comansclubmurfreesboro.org.
