A possible heroin overdose was reported at an address on February Street.
When Murfreesboro Police arrived, they learned that the woman who overdosed was found in the bathroom by her roommate. The roommate was treated with Narcan and authorities found evidence of the female shooting up heroin in the home. The female was alert and conscious when she was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
In another case involving an overdose, paramedics were called to Searcy Street where they observed a female laying on the floor of a mobile home. The person who called for help told emergency workers that they believed the unconscious woman had overdosed on heroin.
Narcan was administered to the female who came too. She then admitted to police that she had used heroin, but would not say how much. A needle was located inside the children's bedroom of the mobile home. Both a 3 year old and a 1 year old occupy the bedroom in question, which is why a referral was made to the Department of Children's Services.
A case against the 25 year old woman who allegedly overdosed is pending, but so far an arrest has not been made.
