Storms circled Rutherford County Tuesday night, and a lightning bolt ignited a two-story home at 615 Jim Cedar Drive. When firefighters arrived around 10:00PM, flames were showing from the roof as well on the second story.
Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department's Ladder 9 was requested to assist.
An aggressive fire attack limited fire damage to a relatively small portion of the house, but there was considerable water damage to a larger area.
Four residents were home at the time and were able to safely evacuate the home with no injuries were reported.
Jim Cedar Drive is in the Springhouse Subdivision, off Shores Road near I-840.
Emergency responders included the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office, Rutherford County Fire Rescue, Almaville Volunter Fire Department, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services.
