(MURFREESBORO) The Doors of Hope is asking the public to bring new or gently used childrens book by their office this coming Thursday. They're located at 428 E Bell Street here in Murfreesboro.

Doors of Hope is partnering with The Experience Community to provide backpacks, books and school supplies to the children of the women in our pre-release classes inside the Rutherford County Correctional Work Center.

Founder and CEO Maridel Williams said, "We are seeking donations of children's books in any age range to fill their backpacks with."

Doors of Hope, Inc is a long-term rehabilitative reentry program where women being released from incarceration or drug rehab can restructure life for a better future.

In addition to donating books, Doors of Hope invites the public to attend its fifth annual Firefly Supper at 6:00PM Thursday, October 17, 2019, in the View at the Fountains. This unique event brings together local chefs for a "farm to table" dining experience which provides delicious food and fellowship while spreading awareness about the Doors of Hope mission. Tickets are $125 each and a table is $1,000.

For more information about either event, contact the Doors of Hope at 615-900-0634. The office is open 9:00AM to 4:30PM.
