UPDATE / RECAP: Rutherford County Resident Terry Barber Murdered, All 3 Suspects Held in Rutherford County

WGNS has a recap on a murder that took place in June of this year and now, all three suspects are in the local jail after one was caught in Florida where she was being held. The victim in the case was Rutherford County resident Terry Barber.

Vernice Darlene Farrar, who was captured in Florida, has since been transferred to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office where she is now behind bars.

The victim, who refereed and umpired for Murfreesboro sporting events and also sold SEC merchandise, was found dead inside his Walnut Grove Road home in June of this year.

SUSPECTS ARRESTED:

1.) 20-year-old Devan Jacob Gailey,
2.) 21-year-old Brent Donavan Ross,
3.) 39-year-old Vernice Darlene Farrar

CHARGES:

1.) first-degree murder,
2.) aggravated kidnapping
3.) especially aggravated robbery.

Terry Barber Obituary:

Murfreesboro - Terry Wayne Barber, age 68, passed away at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County and graduated from Central High School in 1969. Terry was an avid sports fan and a longtime referee.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Volney Barber. He is survived by his 1st cousins, Kathy B. Osborne and Janet (Bobby) Murchison; and several other cousins in East Nashville. Terry was especially fond of his dogs Emmie Lou, Boxhead and Smokey.
