(Murfreesboro, TN) - The League of Women Voters of Murfreesboro/Rutherford County is partnering with the Main Street Saturday Market and the Rutherford County Election Commission to offer voter registration as part of the final market of the season on Saturday, September 28, from 8:00 AM to noon on the historic Murfreesboro Square,
"The Saturday Market is about real food, real farmers, and real community," said Lara Womack Daniel, co-president of the League. "Being a registered voter is a vital step in community engagement, and we're so pleased for the Saturday Market's welcome and the Rutherford County Election Commission's support."
Volunteers will register new voters and help confirm existing voters' registration status. Representatives from the Rutherford Election Commission will be on hand to help with any questions.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
