The City of Murfreesboro Planning Department will hold a Public Meeting on the proposed City Core Overlay (CCO) Zoning District, next Tuesday, (Oct. 1, 2019), from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The Public Meeting will be held in the rotunda on the first floor of City Hall (111 West Vine Street) in Murfreesboro. The format of the meeting is come and go, with information stations and staff available to answer any questions concerning the proposed Core Overlay Zoning District.
All interested business owners, developers, and citizens are encouraged to attend.
Attendees can talk to Planning Department staff about the proposed ordinance and how it might affect their property. The proposed City Core Overlay District would support new developments in the Downtown area that are compatible with existing developments.
If a vacant property on a block is developed, the City Core Overlay ordinance would require the new structure to have a height restriction and setback like other structures on the block. The ordinance does not apply to old structures.
