Burn Bans...But Brush Fires Continue!

With temps nearing 100, around 1:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, local firefighters responded to a large brush fire in the 6500 block of Gum Puckett Road near Bradyville Pike.

Despite the ban on burning in Rutherford County, some residents are not obeying the laws as there have been several similar blazes.

Units from Rutherford County Fire Rescue along with Kittrell Volunteer Fire Dept., Almaville Volunteer Fire Rescue Department, and Christiana Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the fast burning field while deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office controlled traffic.

And since October 6-12, 2019 is FIRE PREVENTION WEEK, WGNS reminds you that there will be a special OPEN HOUSE at noon to 3:00PM this coming Sunday (10/6/2019) at Rockvale Elementary School, 6550 Highway 99 in Rockvale, TN. The public is encouraged to attend.
