Man Who Allegedly Shot His Brother Expected to File Plea Friday in Murfreesboro

A man who allegedly shot his brother during an argument in 2018 will soon face the Rutherford County courts.

The shooting took place in the 600 block of East Vine Street in Murfreesboro and after police arrived on the scene, they found Julius Harris with a gunshot wound. Harris, who was flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, claimed that he was shot by his own brother.

Authorities issued a warrant for Jamonta Tyrone Hoover- Burrell charging him with attempted first degree murder. Several days later, officers captured Burrell.

One year later and a court date has been scheduled for Burrell who will appear before Judge Royce Taylor on Friday (10/4/19). A plea is expected to be filed on Friday in relation to the shooting of his brother in 2018.

In addition to the attempted murder charge, Burrell was also charged with the intent to go armed, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and coercion of a witness.
