Oakland High School EPSO Week

Oakland High School will celebrate EPSO (Early Post Secondary Opportunities) week in conjunction with Rutherford County Schools and the Tennessee Department of Education from Oct. 21-25.

Tennessee recognizes nine different types of EPSOs including Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, Dual Credit, Industry Certifications, Cambridge International Exam, International Baccalaureate, College Level Examination Program, and Statewide Dual Credit.

At Oakland High School, staff members tell WGNS NEWS they are proud to offer AP, Dual Enrollment, Industry Certification, International Baccalaureate Furthermore, they report they are especially thankful to be a part of the Rutherford County School system that promotes and encourages us to look beyond the walls of traditional school experience to bring many opportunities to our students.

With partnerships in education, business and community organizations including the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, Oakland is positioned to offer exciting challenges to students in high school that will prepare them to be college and career ready.

During EPSO Week, Oakland will compete in the state EPSO logo design contest, social media campaign, local media interviews, host speakers, produce information videos for school wide announcements, and sponsor a college gear shirt day...just to name a few. Oakland is looking forward to a great week of celebration for all of the EPSO events.
