The recent Doors of Hope Firefly Supper that raised over $80,000 for the local non profit paid tribute to a Volunteer of the Year this past week. The Bart Warner Volunteer of the Year award, sponsored by the John W. & Barbara Dant Charitable Foundation, went to Marcie Richmond during the 2019 Firefly Supper.
Richmond has served Doors of Hope over the last 7 years in numerous capacities. To name a few she has been the Chair of our Board of Directors, a Life Coach, a provider of transportation for clients, a valuable Firefly Supper volunteer, and a member of numerous committees.
In addition to these roles, Richmond has been a connector in our community for Doors of Hope and the organization noted they would not be the organization they are today without her guidance.
Doors of Hope has two main goals: to reduce risk of recidivism by providing case management that focuses on transition planning and individual needs and by providing a pre-release education program to raise self-esteem and enhance the probability of finding and keeping employment after release.
