MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- It rained. Poured rain. And the sun popped out briefly. But it failed to douse the spirits of Blue Raider faithful during the annual MTSU homecoming events Saturday (Oct. 26) across campus.
Alumni, students and Blue Raider fans of all ages attended the parade, Mixer on Middle, tailgating in Walnut Grove and elsewhere, indoor tailgate luncheon in Murphy Center, Raider Walk and then the game -- a 50-17 romp by MTSU over visiting Florida International University in Floyd Stadium.
Homecoming is a way for everyone connected to the university to celebrate the decades of traditions -- food, fun and fellowship at various activities -- all leading up to the game.
Golden Raiders (Class of 1969 and earlier) celebrated with an induction ceremony on Friday (Oct. 25), with Distinguished Alumni featured later in the day and also on the field during the game.
