SFD began attacking the fire and were able to successfully rescue the family pet. Lt Justin Cross and Lt Brian Garsnett utilized a pet rescue breathing mask to resuscitate the dog. "I am extremely proud the actions of Lt Cross and Lt Garsnett," noted Smyrna Fire Chief Bill Culbertson. "We understand that pets are an important part of families and we are happy we have the equipment that allowed us to save this pet."
