(MURFREESBORO) The season of pies, cookies and endless treats is ahead, and as you feel your clothes grow more snug--consider doing something healthy and fun. The Cripple Creek Cloggers begin their January clogging lessons and practices in January on Sundays the 5th, 19th and 26th. Great exercise that can also lead to world travel and adventure.

Cripple Creek Cloggers' Founder Steve Cates said, "Fran and the Smyrna Senior Citizens has been great allowing us to use their fine facility for our practices. Their support is invaluable!"

It's possible for those who begin practice in January, to be ready to tour with this volunteer group who share this areas cultural heritage through music and dance. Time in Puerto Rico is on the 2020 agenda.

Cates noted, "All food, lodging and travel while in Puerto Rico is provided by the festival, as is usual. We will pay our round trip airfare of course."

An while we're talking about the Cripple Creek Cloggers, don't forget about The 38th International Folkfest June 7-14, 2020 here in Murfreesboro. (Those who are involved in planning will meet on Nov. 18 to make some final decisions, especially regarding transportation and which foreign troupes we will invite.

"Our team will have an especially difficult choice selecting who will be here. Slovenia, Portugal, Hungary, Puerto Rico, Scotland, South Korea and Taiwan have already applied to participate. Naturally, we hope that Uncle Shuffelo and His Haint Hollow Hootenanny will join us to provide their great music during the festival and in Puerto Rico.

Cates concluded, "I hope you enjoy your family and friends and celebrate the upcoming season to its fullest and that good health and happiness will fill your lives and those of your loved ones for the rest of 2019 and throughout the New Year."
