MTSU Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony

MTSU will award more than 1,750 degrees during its fall 2019 commencement ceremonies this Saturday, Dec. 14, in Hale Arena inside Murphy Center.

The morning ceremony begins at 9 a.m., and the afternoon ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. Each ceremony is expected to last about two hours.

Media should be in place at least 30 minutes before each event begins. Media members must remain in the upper levels of Murphy Center during the ceremonies; the arena floor will be accessible only to graduates and university personnel.

Former MTSU student Chris Young, a member of the Grand Ole Opry and a multiplatinum-selling country music entertainer, and Belle Wheelan, president and chief executive officer of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, are the special speakers at the morning and afternoon ceremonies, respectively. University President Sidney A. McPhee and other MTSU officials also will speak briefly to graduates during the ceremonies.

Each ceremony also will be streamed live online at http://facebook.com/mtsublueraiders and http://www.mtsu.edu.live. The closed-captioned video feed will begin about 15 minutes before each event.
