A state lawmaker wants Tennessee to recognize CNN and The Washington Post as "fake news."
Republican Rep. James Van Huss of Jonesborough, TN introduced the resolution on Tuesday. It would have Tennessee's General Assembly condemn the media outlets for "denigrating" Tennesseans, implying they're "weak-minded followers" instead of people exercising their rights that were paid for by veterans.
Van Huss claims CNN and The Washington Post have mocked the state since 60-percent of Tennesseans voted for President Trump in the 2016 election.
