The city of Murfreesboro is under a local state of emergency, which requires all alcohol and food service businesses to close for on-site consumption and gym, exercise and fitness facilities to close.
Mayor Shane McFarland, during a briefing from the council chambers carried LIVE on WGNS, said he's been asked by many about a "safer at home directive," similar to Nashville. He said Murfreesboro's charter is set up different than Metro Nashville:
