A group of Maney Avenue business owners have met with the city manager of Murfreesboro and asked to be compensated for a loss of business due to an ongoing road project. Evidently, the idea of being compensated was not met with open arms and Rob Lyons told them that the city does not compensate businesses for road projects. The Maney Avenue project started in 2010. Despite being denied compensation, Lyons did say that a special story about the project will be aired on city cable channel 3 in the future.
