An unknown man has been posing as a bail bondsman and stealing money from Hispanics in Murfreesboro. For the second time in the past two weeks, the culprit has met with Hispanic persons and told them that he can bond their loved one out of jail for a bond fee of $900. In both cases, the bonds turned out to be a scam.
In the first case the make believe bondsman met with the victim at Toot’s on Broad Street and said that he could bond the victim’s relative out of jail in Manchester for $900. It was a scam. AND NOW, in the most recent case, the victim was told that he (the bondsman) could bail her husband out of jail in Nashville for a $900 fee. That turned out to be a scam too. In the second case, the phony bondsman met with the victim at Hardees on Broad Street and video surveillance in the restaurant may have caught the cheat on camera. The victim described the man as a thin white male with a small goatee. So far, he has not been caught
