(MURFREESBORO) Warm weather is more consistently here and traffic is picking-up, so how will that impact congestion around construction zones? Deputy Director Murfreesboro Traffic Ram Balachandran has news for 'Boro motorists through May 30, 2020.

City Construction Projects

Right Turn Lane Improvement Work (Robert Rose Dr at Thompson Ln)

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be making right turn lane improvements on Robert Rose Dr at Thompson Ln. On Tuesday, May 26, the westbound approach of Robert Rose Dr will be closed at Thompson Ln and will remain closed until Friday, May 29 for underground utility installation work. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Underground Utility Installation Work (Sulphur Springs Rd at Northfield Blvd)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be performing underground utility work on Sulphur Springs Rd at Northfield Blvd. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Water Resource Department Sewer Rehabilitation Work (W Northfield Blvd just east of NW Broad St)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: Contractor for Water Resource Department will be performing sewer rehabilitation work on W Northfield Blvd just east of NW Broad St across from Kroger. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Annual City Street Paving Projects

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM: City contractor will be paving and striping at the following streets:

  1. Haynes Dr between Wiltshire Dr and Memorial Blvd
  2. Irongate Dr between Winthorne Ln and Sulphur Springs Rd
  3. SE Broad St at Rutherford Blvd
  4. Memorial Blvd between St. Clair and Clark Blvd (nighttime work)
  5. Medical Center Pkwy (Incidental sidewalk installation work)

Expect lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
