(MURFREESBORO) Another protest is reportedly planned for the historic Murfreesboro square. The FaceBook page for Protest Against Oppression claims it will begin at 4:15PM this Saturday (6/20/2020) afternoon.

On the Protest Against Oppression FaceBook page they say, "We have been out at the square protesting police brutality and Confederate monuments that symbolize the oppression BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) face every single day. This monument was put up in 1901 during Jim Crow era to intimidate black people in our home and more importantly their home. It's a symbol of hate and it doesn't belong in our community let alone on our public square. This is also to bring attention to Police brutality and the NEED for cops in our city to understand they are there to PROTECT and SERVE the ENITRE COMMUNITY! WE NEED REFORMS NOW."
