(SMYRNA, TN) A bevy of volunteers rushed to help persons who were on-board a boat that was beginning to sink late Saturday (6/20/2020) afternoon at Percy Priest Lake. It was near the Fate Sanders boat ramp.
A passing boat had already started unloading passengers when Rutherford County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene.
With guidance from 911 dispatch, emergency responders quickly located the partially submerged Thompson Santa Cruz 3400, a 33-foot inboard-outboard sports cruiser.
Rutherford County Fire Rescue got the remaining occupants to safety.
After that, officials from both Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and Rutherford County Fire Rescue were at the boat ramp to assist.
No injuries were reported.
