New York Times best selling author Chris Bohjalian will speak and sign books at the Friends of Linebaugh Library Membership Luncheon on Saturday, March 31 at noon at the Chamber of Commerce. Bohjalian will also speak and sign books at Linebaugh Library from 4:00-6:00 PM that afternoon.
Bohjalian is the author of 13 novels such as Midwives; The Double Bind; and The Night Strangers. His novel Secrets of Eden was recently made into a movie for Lifetime Network. Bohjalian has also written Idyll Banter: Weekly Excursions to a Very Small Town, a nonfiction account of living in a small town in Vermont. Friends of Linebaugh Library President Carlton expressed his excitement about the Bohjalian’s visit, saying “This is indeed a great opportunity for Friends of Linebaugh Library and our community to meet, listen, and talk with one of the most popular writers in America today. Admission to the Friends of Linebaugh Library Author Luncheon is $20 per person with a paid membership. Members can bring guests, but the member must make the reservation. Reservations can be made at the Circulation Desk of Linebaugh Library. Payment for the luncheon is due when the reservation is made; cash, check and credit cards are accepted. All proceeds go to benefit the Linebaugh Public Library System. The Friends of Linebaugh Library is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 1981 to promote the Library and its activities through exhibits, special programming, and library materials beyond the regular resources of the Library. The Friends have eight used book sales throughout the year with two special members-only sales and occasional "secret sales" in which only members are notified.
Membership levels are $10 for a student membership, $20 for an individual membership, $30 for member plus one, $40 for family membership, and $50 for patron membership. Lifetime membership can be obtained for $250 and corporate membership for $1000. All donations are tax deductible.
