A 28-year old Murfreesboro man was the victim of fraud. Unknown persons filed taxes under the victims name and claimed a tax refund check from the IRS. This is the third time that an IRS tax refund scam has been reported in Murfreesboro in the past 2-months. All three cases are now being investigated by the Internal Revenue Service.
