A 56-year old Murfreesboro man found out the hard way that a check he cashed was a fake. Evidently, the bank did not catch it until several days had passed. The victim told police that he received the check for $1,900 in the mail for agreeing to be a secret shopper. The note with the check informed the recipient to cash the check and then wire $1,400 to Spain. Well, that is exactly what the victim did and now the victim is out $1,900.
