Monday morning's drive-to-work proved troublesome for one-vehicle crashes here in the 'Boro. Around 7:00 o'clock a pickup left the roadway on East Jefferson Pike near Hedgeapple Road. Shortly after that, emergency responders rushed to another one-vehicle accident on Lascassas Pike near Garrison Cove.
West Jefferson Pike
Trooper Rick James reports that a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on East Jefferson Pike. "The truck went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, skid off the left side of the roadway and the right side of the vehicle hit a large tree."
51-year old Denise Haynes of Murfreesboro was driving the truck, and did not have her seatbelt on. She received injuries and was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Lascassas Pike
Murfreesboro Police spokesperson Kyle Evans told WGNS News that a medical crisis ended with a vehicles slamming into the fencerow alongside Lascassas Pike near Garrison Cove shortly after the earlier accident in Walter Hill.
Traffic at both incidents was snarled due to the fact that it was the peak morning drive-time.
