Murfreesboro Police are investigating an attempted rape that occurred on Wednesday morning around 4. The woman who was attacked told officers that she was walking to the laundry room of her apartment complex when she was approached by a dark skinned male with dreadlocks. The incident occurred at an apartment complex on Greenland Drive. During the attack, the victim says the man slashed her across the chest with a box cutter. Fortunately, she was not seriously injured. The victim told police the man was wearing latex gloves and a white MTSU shirt with red sneakers. The man was said to be in his 20’s and weighed about 150-pounds and was close to 5’7 in height. So far, he has not been caught.
