MPD/MFD Celebrates National Emergency Telecommunications Week

The Murfreesboro Police Department and the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department will celebrate National Emergency Telecommunications Week with a ceremony held at the Murfreesboro Police Department. The national tradition was started in 1981 to put a special focus on public safety telecommunications professionals for their contributions to the safety and security of communities around the world.

On April 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Mayor Tommy Bragg, along with Chief of Police Glenn Chrisman and Fire & Rescue Chief Cumbey Gaines, will present the Emergency 9-1-1 personnel with a City Proclamation recognizing National Telecommunications Week.
 
The 2011 “Dispatcher of the Year” award will be presented to Dispatcher Janie Lawrence for recognition of her outstanding performance.

The media and public are invited to attend the event.
