As heard in previous newscast, the number of deaths on Tennessee roads has risen this year, when compared to 2011. Since January 1st, there have been more then 300-fatal accidents in our state. That is a 13% increase when you compare this same time of year of 2011 to 2012. The state has since started posting traffic fatality numbers on message boards along the interstates. From January 1st to now, there have been 331-traffic fatalities in Tennessee. 44-Potential trouble spots where a higher number of accidents have occurred are being looked into by the Tennessee Department of Transportation to see what can be done to save more lives.
