Middle Tennessee Medical Center (MTMC) and the Saint Thomas Health Neuroscience Institute are offering a free educational series, Think About It, this summer in Murfreesboro to help the public better understand the workings of the brain, common neurological issues and the latest treatment options.

MTMC and Saint Thomas Health are dedicated to the treatment and prevention of neurological disorders and offering compassionate, individualized care and the most advanced technology for diagnosis and treatment of stroke, brain and spine tumors, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, sleep disorders and headaches.

According to the National Center for Health, stroke is ranked as the third leading cause of death in United States. Alzheimer’s disease is ranked as the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and it is estimated that 5.4 million Americans are currently diagnosed with this debilitating illness. Prevention of these neurological diseases and issues includes knowledge and noticing early warning signs.

The Think About It series features five topics and each session will be presented by MTMC and Saint Thomas Health neuroscience physicians and professionals who will be available for questions. A light lunch will be provided.
