Bad Mix: Hot Temps and Hot Tempers

Hot temps and hot tempers created several domestic violence attacks in the 'Boro over the past 24-hours.

N. Lakeshore Drive

Murfreesboro Police reports show that a North Lakeshore Drive resident was awakened early Tuesday (5/29/2012) morning by her boyfriend pounding on the door. The 54-year old woman told Officer Brown that she allowed the 48-year old male to enter. As she went back to sleep, the boyfriend slipped into bed with her. She told him to leave. He reportedly went outside and dumped her trashcan in the front lawn. As the resident attempted to phone 911, the male allegedly came back and broke the telephone. She took out an aggravated assault warrant, but as of now it has not been served.

Wenlon Drive

At the same time, at 6:05 Tuesday morning, a Wenlon Drive apartment dweller was asleep on the living room sofa when her ex-boyfriend came in shouting and reportedly had come to get his belongings. While dragging a bed from upstairs out the door, the 37-year old male supposedly was cursing loudly--and woke-up the 21-year old woman's children. She said the threats from the 250 pound male that was well over 6-feet tall, put her in fear of her life. The female went to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and obtained a domestic violence warrant, and the man was picked-up by the cops.

Benley Street

Around 7:30 Tuesday night (5/30/2012) a Benley Street woman told Murfreesboro Police Officer Clark that she had been out of town and upon returning home discovered her roommate ate what was described as a sizable amount of her food. She asked the 21-year old male about it while he was reportedly sharpening a machete.  The 40-year old woman told police that her roommate then made a chopping motion toward her with the giant knife, and reportedly threatened to chop her head off. The machete was seized as evidence, and the woman took out a domestic assault warrant on the male.

Parking Lot Beating

Around 8:12 Tuesday night (5/29/2012), Officer Cody was called to the Exxon gas station on Mercury Boulevard at Middle Tennessee Boulevard. He found a shirtless white male with injuries to his hand and an abrasion on his knee. The 22-year old male was intoxicated, and told the policeman that his step-father and step-brother had given him alcohol, including a 40-ounce bottle of beer. Allegedly, they kicked him out of the car and beat him in the parking lot of a business. The location of that assault changed several times. Police went to the ER with the victim, but he was unable to sign a warrant for the arrest of the alleged attackers, because of severe swelling in his hand.

Victory Gallup Lane

And just before 10:30 Tuesday night (5/29/2012), a Victory Gallup Lane couple got into an argument when the 30-year old female decided to stay downstairs and talk with her 10-year old niece instead of spending time with her 44-year old live-in girlfriend. She told Officer Miller that the disagreement escalated into slapping and biting. Pictures were made of the younger woman's injuries, while the other was taken to the Adult Detention Center. That case is scheduled for General Sessions Court on July 5th.
