Over 3-ounces of marijuana was recovered by Murfreesboro Police this past weekend during a so called “knock and talk.” The phrase “knock and talk” is used when a police officer has the suspicion that illegal activity has taken place at the home in question. The marijuana was apparently in the home of Shane Drennon Hughes. According to a police report, when the officer arrived at the house he could smell marijuana as soon as Hughes answered the front door. Once inside, the officer spotted a small bag of marijuana in the hallway and then found a larger bag in the bedroom. The incident occurred at 1536 Quantum Ct.
The 21-year old was charged with possessing a schedule 4 drug for the purpose of resale. Hughes will appear in court on August 30. He was booked into the local jail under a $3,500 bond.
