MTSU’s Center for Innovation in Media was nationally recognized by the Associated Press MediaEditors for its efforts to converge the University’s student media and foster collaboration across media platforms.
You may recall that MTSU placed all of their media organizations under the same roof in the mass comm building. The student run newspaper, television station and two radio stations are all together.
MTSU received an Honorable Mention in the category of Innovator of the Year for College Students in the recently announced 2012 APME Journalism Excellence Awards. The University was lauded for “reforming and reshaping its student media.” According to the judges, “The converged newsroom is a model for journalism schools and professional news organizations.”
