Ten storage units were damaged at Security Self Storage located at 405 West Northfield Boulevard. Fire ignited in one of the units at approximately 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon (7/28/12) and spread.

Public Information Officer Ashley McDonald told WGNS News that five Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue units responded to the initial call. First responders reported heavy smoke and flames from the structure behind First Tennessee Bank. Personnel immediately began an interior attack. The fire quickly spread to 10 units in the building.

Two additional units arrived on the scene, and the fire was knocked out. Firefighters remained at the complex for several hours to aide in the clean-up and make certain the flames did not re-ignite. No one was injured during this incident.

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting a routine investigation.
