A Rutherford County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a crash on State Route 840, on the ramp at Veterans Parkway. The accident happened around 9pm Thursday night. Reports indicate the officer was attempting to stop two cars drag racing. One of the car's involved stopped, but another exited 840 on the eastbound ramp and the deputy apparently pursued. The deputy was trapped, at least initially, but was able to get free. No word on injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue, Murfreesboro Police and Emergency Medical Services were all on the scene of the crash.
