The public certainly had every chance to be heard at the December 6th meeting of the Murfreesboro City Council, over the course of an impressive 8 public hearings.  The result?  Not a single speaker.  Two more public hearings were also scheduled to annex 12.3 acres along Highway 231 and zone 10.64 of those acres to Commercial District.  Those hearings are now slated for January 10th.  Additionally, Councilman Smotherman took a moment to recognize the passing of former council member and Vice-Mayor Tommy Smith, the Parks & Recreation Commission approved some new holiday specials for the Patterson Community Center and Sports*Com, and if you have an appetite for destruction, the Habitat for Humanity owned structure at 632 Dill Lane is on the slate to be demolished.
