There was a purse snatching in Murfreesboro on Thursday afternoon. The 68-year old victim had just finished loading her car with groceries in front of the Kroger store on Memorial Boulevard when she heard a male voice state, “Let me borrow your purse.” She told police the unknown man then grabbed her purse and shoved her to the ground.

A witness to the theft described the thief as a black male who left the scene in a 90’s model sedan, maroon in color. The car was said to have paint that appeared to be faded by the sun. A second culprit was driving the getaway vehicle.

The victim’s purse later turned up on a road in the county. Police say that one purchase was confirmed on her credit card. The purchase was made at the Quick and Easy market in Smyrna. No arrests have been made.
