As we approach Christmas day, shoplifting is on the increase in Rutherford County. In one of multiple stories we have heard about, two women, ages 22 and 24 allegedly helped themselves to merchandise from Francesca’s and Altar’d State on Medical Center Parkway. The women had over $400 in stolen clothing and jewelry when caught.
To make matters worse, one of the two women lied to Murfreesboro Police about her identity. The arresting officer was eventually able to positively identify her and realized that she had an active warrant for her arrest. Police searched the purse of suspect number one and her accomplice. In one of the two women’s purses, the officer found hypodermic needs allegedly filled with cocaine. The women were taken into custody and now face several charges including theft of merchandise.
